Good morning,

Men and women of God in recovery and those who are still struggling with the decision to change. I'd like to say I love each one of you especially those who bear the mark of Christ. I have been walking this road myself for some time now and one of my desires is to see us grow and expand in our faith but even more so to grow in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Not so we can say, "we are special or that we made it to a higher level" but grow for the sake of the cross as well as the testimony of His resurrection.

Jesus, our Lord, and Savior, God in the flesh; came so we could have life in abundance here on earth before we make it to Heaven. He designed us to share His love in abundant Grace, to provide examples of the Gospel in our daily lives as much as speak it over loudspeakers and pulpits

He asks us to love as He loves… like we have never been hurt, bruised, beaten, or burned. Man I know that sounds crazy but you must look at the source. The Guy who hung on the cross is the one saying it. I mean it is a good thing to say before someone stabs you in the back (Judas), or even before you are spit on (Roman soldiers) or slapped (Roman guard). It is easy to say when your boys stand by your side, however, it is hard when they deny even knowing you (Peter). It is easy when you think there is a possibility of parole or pardon before the day of execution. It should be near impossible to love someone who has just hung you out to dry, literally, on a cross with your privates exposed, in front of your mom. Do you know how embarrassing that is? I mean for real! Can you imagine? The hurt and pain that came from all of this?

Yet this same person (Jesus) who gave up everything to share His love in abundance. He willingly allowed Himself to be butchered. Yet He still Said “forgive them (one and all) because they don’t know what the heck they are doing.

Well, that sucks.

He died…..

Then something amazing happens. He comes back, from the grave, tomb, hole in the ground, whatever you want to call it, either way, He was buried and guarded by the same guys who killed Him. Still, He goes back to the same men and women who did him dirt and hangs out with them…

Yep, that’s what I’m talking about. Loving like you’ve never been hurt before is not just a lyric in a song or line in a poem or even a good phrase to throw around. It is what is in front of you as a Christian. It is for the warrior that screams at the top of a hill or the woman who has just lost her child untimely or the man who just lost his wife from an accident or the Kid who was just bullied in school, for the drug addict who has been abused by the family for what he does but ignored for who he is.

Love will cover a multitude of sin, pain, hurt, fill in the blank ___________, He covers it all. Did you catch that? He, not it…The love we speak about in First Love Unbroken is the Love that has been yours and ours since before you were born and He has never stopped loving you.

One thing I want to give to those reading this or who will hear about it in the time to come. Whether from me in a lesson from a stage or platform or in a personal conversation. *Forgiveness makes this love possible. His love towards us and our love towards others comes first from forgiveness. He being God does it first and then He gives us the blueprint and we say it so often that we don’t even notice it anymore. What am I saying right?

Forgive my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me, forgive my debt as I forgive those who are indebted to me…I hope you saw that coming. If not, now you know. The serenity prayer should look a lot different in recovery. The original isn't shortened like the version we hear most of the time. We find that in the rooms we stop at “Wisdom to distinguish the one from the other”, so as not to offend someone or anyone and I find it amazingly sad because, in its original state, the remainder says, “Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it, trusting that You will make all things right, If I surrender to Your will, so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next Amen”.

Can you see why this portion is so important? If you are struggling or have someone who is suffering from addiction or pains of the soul that just won’t go away. Keep reading, please.

I have learned that you have to go through it to get to it and that "it" is a better life a better person, a better father, a better husband. You can fill in the blank, but there is a better with your name on it.

There is more

“I have heard your cry,” says the Lord. The ones who want to be more like Me. Step right up experience the pain and be an example of what love looks like. It looks like HIM.

"Choose you, this day", what does that mean???

I'm asking because He is asking... did you know that Jesus taught by exposure to being asked questions. I mean He was or is God in the flesh so the Bible reflects the thoughts of God the Father as a whole so we see the theme of the Messiah running through the Tanakh' well before Jesus inhabited the body of Mary. He (God the Father) asked, and we had to find the answers, not in the world of today or yesterday but we had to find the answers within Him. I love it. How often do you have the answer before the question? Let’s see how that works.

Choose you this day whom you will serve, Joshua 24:15, the gods, idols, spirits you ran with before you had a taste of sobriety or had a touch of a sober mind. Or serve, fully give into the Lord Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord.

With that choosing comes great things if you answer the question correctly. In the book of Mark chapter 16. Jesus comes back and talks with the fellas and he gives them some pretty important stuff to pass along to the rest of the world. He could do this because they had answered the question by knowing the answer (personally). So Jesus being the God that He is, came with the answer a new language (tongues) and miracles happened (sickness gone, mental illness gone, generational curses gone) and for everything that is beyond our control to fix or repair. The advantage of having an answer to any and every question there is stems from knowing that there is only one answer.

Have you been taught that you need a higher power to be in recovery? Ok, I’ll go with that but let me ask you something, just because I want to stay on the whole let me ask you a question theme…so when you go to a doctor and that doctor looks you over and gives you a diagnosis and then a treatment plan, whether medication or not but it works and whatever was harming your life is now not doing the damage any more to your life.

You feel better, great in fact and the world sees this and asks you what happened or who is responsible for you having such great results? Do you throw up your hands and say, “ I don’t know it just happened?” Do you say, I just went to a doctor, I’m not really sure who he was but, I feel great? Or do you give the name of the doctor, the address of the doctor, the stats of the doctor and go on and on about what he said and how he came to the conclusion and on and on and on about how wonderful you feel and how you were almost a goner.

I mean most of us would be so happy we would send people to that same doctor and tell people don’t see anyone else in the office but him because he is the greatest. The doctor in-kind remembers you and because you do what you are told you remain healthy. Yet when it comes to our Higher Power, Jesus, we want to remove His name so we can…what??? Fit in.

Don’t throw away your connection with the great Physician of your soul, spirit, and body because it gets you funny looks or because it makes you different than those you came into the room with. Own up to your God’s reputation. Realize He is the Highest of the High, and He is happy to heal you. Again and again until the end of the age.

First Love Unbroken is growing and asking questions of our community... will you Break Tradition ??? I can't wait to SEE the answer. We welcome your support on this journey, so come as you are, come for recovery, leave redeemed. Until next time.

Peace. & Love

Brother Wolf
